About Chloe

Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulator & Birth Doula

The birth world peaked my interest at a young age. Ever since high school biology class I knew I was meant to have a career related to helping people birth babies. Wasn't sure what to do with this new found inspiration, then in 2016 I was introduced to Welcome Home Doula Services Training Program and quickly fell in love with being a doula.
Soon after completion, I was invited to become a mentor doula for WHDS which was both an honor and fulfilling experience. Attending both in and out of hospital births, I was witnessing how medical providers, when caring for those in labor, didn't always provide consistent or consensual care. This drove me to train as a midwife assistant with Welcome Home, with the goal of becoming a midwife.
As of September 2019, I am enrolled in the National College of Midwifery as a student midwife and could not be on a clearer path! I still have as much passion and enthusiasm for supporting birthing families as I did at the beginning. Birth is such a personal time of growth, that when you partner with the right team (whoever that may include!) the impact can resonate the rest of your days.
During my down time, you can find me playing with my rambunctious toddler, Jack, or doing some much needed yoga. Jack and I love to eat ice cream and go for nature walks around Sacramento.

About Brianna

Postpartum Doula

From a young age I was always I was quite interested in pregnancy, birth, and caring for an infant. I grew up seeing most of my aunts go through different pregnancies and watching my mom volunteer as a doula at various hospitals. All of these exposures were the main reasons I was so fascinated with anything related to pregnancy and birth. When I got pregnant with my daughter, my love for all things pregnancy and birth grew and I got to experience first hand how stressful or even just hard the postpartum period in particular can be. I dealt with some hard days of feeling alone and unseen as a parent but wanted to be there for my daughter. Shortly after my birth experience, I decided to dabble into becoming a doula and took a course with Chloe, and then started shadowing her! The experience confirmed that I definitely wanted to be a postpartum doula! Every parent should feel like they are supported during their postpartum period and that they are doing a wonderful job caring for their little one. I think the saying, “hold the parent, not the baby” is very crucial for that first few month after birth because you matter still.

During my days at home I spend time reading and playing and my daughter who always keeps a smile on my face. I love to bond with my family over trying new recipes we just made or taking walks in our neighborhood!
